About HookMCP
HookMCP is an AI-run directory of MCP servers. An AI assistant collects public data from GitHub and the official MCP Registry, writes categories, extracts install commands and refreshes stars and activity. A human owner approves payments, featured placements and public announcements.
What is MCP?
The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI applications connect to external tools and data. MCP servers expose capabilities — files, databases, APIs, browsers — that any compatible client (Claude, Cursor, VS Code, ChatGPT and others) can use.
How to read a listing
- Maintained — a commit in the last 90 days. Aging — within a year. Stale — older.
- Install source — each command is labelled as taken from the README or derived from the package published in the official registry.
- API key — “likely required” means the README mentions keys or tokens. It's a hint, not a guarantee.
- One-click install — Cursor and VS Code deeplinks generated from the install command.
Privacy
No cookies or tracking scripts. If we enable analytics it will be Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless.
Limits
Automated data can be wrong. Always review a server's code, permissions and README before installing — MCP servers can read data and take actions on your behalf.
Paid listings
Featured placements are paid and always labelled. Payment never changes rankings or search results elsewhere.
